mhl5161
Hi All, I'm new to this website and to Priceline bidding. Seems like a great resource. Anyway I bid on 3* Asheville Hotel (assuming the Rennaisance from previous post) for Aug 27-28-2005. Started at 60 dollar bid and got rejected all the way up to 70 dollars. I've seen posters get rooms in the 60 dollar range, any advice or should I just bid closer to the day the room is needed. Thanks, Link to comment
LglBlonde
Have you checked the going rate for the Renaissance? You may also want to check the Crowne Plaza - when it was a Holiday Inn Sunspree it also came up as a 3* in Asheville. If you post the going rates and sources, I think we can figure out what your max bid should be. :) Link to comment
mhl5161
The going rate at the Renaissance was about 170. This week I got a email from Marriott.com saying the lowered rates for this weekend to 130. The Crowne says no rooms available so I suspect this may be a busy wknd for the Asheville area. thereuare
When did you last bid so that you are eligible to bid again? Also, i'm not seeing any $130 rate at the Renaissance when i looked earlier today... are you seeing that rate there? mhl5161
I last bid 70 dollars on August 23. The last rate I got on the Marriott website was for 139. This was a ebreak deal. In order to see that rate, use the promotional code MEB. Link to comment
thereuare
With only 4 days before your stay i wouldn't expect opaque availabilty to change that much... the $134 rate may be the best you can get on this. As well, you only have one more chance to beat it on Priceline, so you dont' have much 'wiggle room'.If you do decide to book direct please use our MARRIOTT link to do so.
