mknight1234 Posted December 29, 2012 Report Posted December 29, 2012 Hi, would like some help with a guess on this hotel since we want to bring our dog. Most 4* hotels listed for Carmel on BB look like they are pet friendly. My guess based on past posts would be the Hyatt, but I don't think they have a pool...Here are the full list of amenities listed:Fitness Center Pool(s) Restaurant(s) Business Center High-Speed Internet Access Golf Nearby I'm hoping this is not the Intercontinental since they are not pet friendly. The absence of "oceanfront" or "spa". Any help would be appreciated. As always, I use the click through the betterbidding's link when going to HOTWIRE!
mknight1234 Posted December 29, 2012 Author Report Posted December 29, 2012 Hi, There is also a 4.5 star hotel listed for the same time frame that I'm looking at: $286 per night 01/03/2013 - 01/05/2013. Carmel Area HotelWondering this hotel has been listed before at BB. Didn't see anything in my initial search. Weird thing is that there are no amenities listed for this hotel. Here is the only information I have:Any help would be appreciated! As always, I click through the HOTWIRE links from BB to book my trips/tix/vacations. Thanks!
thereuare Posted December 29, 2012 Report Posted December 29, 2012 Please keep all posts for the same stay in the same thread. For the 4* property, if you go back to HOTWIRE is the full list of amenities: Free Parking Fitness Pool Restaurant Business Hi-Speed Internet Golf Tennis... as this is what i'm seeing for the 4* hotel offered in Monterey when searching for your dates. For the 4.5* area you willing to spend nearly $300/nite for a hotel this trip? Thanks for using the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board; if you're not, please use for your searches too and click each of these links before replying.Thanks. mknight1234 Posted December 30, 2012 Author Report Posted December 30, 2012 Looks like things have changed a lot since yesterday. Here is the new property that I am seeing:4* Monterey Area Hotel for $124/nt. Date range is: 01/03/2013 - 01/05/2013Amenities are as follows:Oceanfront Property Fitness Center Pool(s) Restaurant(s) Business Center High-Speed Internet Access Golf Nearby Spa Services Accessible for the blind Accessible for the deaf Accessible path of travel In-room accessibility Accessible bathroom Handicapped parking Roll-in shower Based on previous posts with all the accessible amenities, this looks like a post for Portola, but will defer to your expertise. Thanks!
thereuare Posted December 30, 2012 Report Posted December 30, 2012 I'm not currently seeing this property offered when searching HOTWIRE for your dates (i'm still seeing the 4* hotel from yesterday)... are you still seeing the above on your own search? If so, are you searching HOTWIRE for more than one room or for more than the default 2adults/0children? Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
mknight1234 Posted December 30, 2012 Author Report Posted December 30, 2012 I think I did 1 room, 2 adults and 1 kid. Does that affect the results? I will check when I get home. Thx! :)
AaronJB Posted December 30, 2012 Report Posted December 30, 2012 This listing has not yet been ID'd/reported to the board, but I'd guess a new amenity set for the Portola or Intercontinental, but I'd lean towards the latter being more likely of the two.Thank you for using the site's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.
mknight1234 Posted December 30, 2012 Author Report Posted December 30, 2012 Ok, here is what I'm seeing:4* Monterey area. $120/nt. 1/3 - 1/5. 1 room, 2 adults, 0 children. When I click on the link to see all amenities, this is what I get in the popup box:Fitness Center Pool(s) Restaurant(s) Business Center High-Speed Internet Access Golf Nearby My result for 4 star does not include Free Parking or Tennis. Sorry for all the confusion. Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

thereuare Posted December 30, 2012 Report Posted December 30, 2012 My guess is that the property you're seeing in Post #4 is the same property you're also seeing in Post #8, but with the latter 'hiding' some of its amenities. My best guess for this property is the InterContinental The Clement. You might be better served using PRICELINE EXPRESS where you can choose a hotel that displays the Pet Friendly icon. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.Let us know whatever you decide to do for this stay or how we can be of further help. mknight1234 Posted December 31, 2012 Author Report Posted December 31, 2012 Oh wow...mindblown. I did not know about PRICELINE EXPRESS until I clicked on your link! This is very helpful. I ran the same search (1/3 - 1/5 for 1 room). The 4* for $110/nt did not show pets allowed. The 3.5* for $91/nt (normally $149 similar hotels) has the following guaranteed amenities:Free InternetIndoor or Outdoor PoolFree ParkingPets AllowedRestaurantBusiness CenterFitness CenterAfter a quick search (since I wasn't considering 3.5* I didn't pay attention to anything under 4) my guess would be the Casa Munras. Thanks for your attention over the holiday period. Any help would be appreciated. Happy new year!
thereuare Posted December 31, 2012 Report Posted December 31, 2012 Glad to see we were able to turn you on to a new feature of the PRICELINE service. :)We have not seen this PRICELINE EXPRESS property reported to the board, but the Casa Munras would be my best guess as well... certainly seems to fit the description provided (and at least you're assured that it's pet friendly)Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.Let us know whatever you decide to do for this trip or if we can be of further help. mknight1234 Posted January 8, 2013 Author Report Posted January 8, 2013 Hi Everyone. Just to close the (much delayed) loop on this, we opted not to use the PRICELINE EXPRESS or PRICELINE EXPRESS services since my wife wanted to stay in Carmel-by-the-sea and not Monterey. Turns out there's a pretty big difference and we really enjoyed how close all the little boutique shops were to the B&B we stayed at. Thanks again!
thereuare Posted January 9, 2013 Report Posted January 9, 2013 Thank you for closing this thread with your decision and glad to hear you enjoyed your stay.In the future when trying for a hotel in a specific area check out our newly updated/released MAPS and HOTELS.com which includes WalkScore so you can easily see what shops, restaurants, coffee houses, etc. are new any given hotel. :) Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
