sfntvintx Posted December 2, 2012 Report Posted December 2, 2012 Started at $89 for Embarcadero. Gradually added USW, SOMA, USE up to $98, then did 3 rebid zones until I got this at $110. Retail price is $169, so not that great a deal, but it's fine. I was hoping for a hotel closer to Bart, but this one has good ratings. Funny I never noticed this hotel before. Should be interesting. Used the PRICELINE link here. Room Subtotal: $110.00Taxes & Fees: $25.31Total Charged to Card: $135.31
thereuare Posted December 2, 2012 Report Posted December 2, 2012 Congratulations on your success! While not the hotel you were hoping for, glad to see you received a nice deal at this property. The Renaissance is a good brand (from Marriott) and hopefully you'll find it to be a good value for the price paid.Thank you for sharing your win and using the PRICELINE links on the board to begin your bidding. Gallus50 Posted December 2, 2012 Report Posted December 2, 2012 If you're taking BART and don't want to walk up Powell Street (pretty steep, I must say), the best way to get up Nob Hill is to get off BART @ Embarcadero, then take the California line cable car straight up California. The Cal line is a lot less touristy than the Powell line to FW, therefore a lot less crowded, too. If you have a MUNI pass, it's free. The fare is about $6, but it is one of the most scenic forms of public transport in the world.....
sfntvintx Posted December 3, 2012 Author Report Posted December 3, 2012 GREAT idea. I might see what the taxi fare is from the Hyatt Regency down there and if it's more than $6, I'll just hop on the cable car. Thanks.
