Priceline Hotel: London Hotels

Hi all :)

I'm planning a trip for Sept 8-10 in London and would love to get a good deal in a 4* hotel like the ones posted here! I've attempted, but am unwilling to go over $70 a night, so I've had no luck in any region.

I did get a counter offer for $83 once, though.

If I can't find a 4* hotel for less than $70, then I'm more than willing to downgrade if I can get a dirt cheap rate (I am a college student after all, and the alternative is going to be a hostel). What are your suggestions for bidding on 3* hotels? What rates can I expect to get? Or is there still hope for my $65 4* hotel?? :)

Thanks so much!

So your arrival\dept dates are

Sept 8th-10th (two or three days?)

Star rating is 4* preferred

Budget is $70 (but then you say $65...)

Area is anywhere in London??

If not 4* then 3* is OK, but at what budget??

Please confirm these points and someone will assist.

:)

FYI

I did get a counter offer for $83 once, though.

You may have got this hotel (which area??) for about $73-74

The counter offer was in the Bloomsbury area, I believe. Budget is $70 for a 4* hotel (I was just referring to others who have gotten them for $65 here).

Areas: I am very flexible. Anything from Regents Park to Kensington to Mayfair... I'm planning on visiting all of the main areas (marathon vacation).

As far as my budget for the 3* goes, I'm not really sure what I can expect to pay. It seems like the rack prices are anywhere from $70 to $120 and above. If I could find a hotel (any hotel) for $50 in London I would be a VERY happy camper. Like I said, we're college students and I'm crunching every quid.

We're also flying to Paris on the tenth, but after reading the help posted on that city, I think I'm going to find my own budget 2* hotel for that stay. There are a couple among the many that actually get good reveiws and will cost only $60.

Thanks!

The counter offer was probably for the Thistle Marble Arch which seems to be the 4* that PL is offering these days.

thereuare will give you a bidding strategy I'm sure.

For Paris have you looked at the Accor group of hotels?

Accor Hotels

I've stayed at this Formule 1 and it's easy to get into Paris on the Metro, though St Denis is hardly a tourist spot :)

You're doing London in TWO days :)

You can book Accor through the BetterBidding affiliate links at the upper right. (Just thought I would mention it.) Formule1 seems like it would be a good choice if you really want to save money and don't mind the transport time. They are relatively new buildings, but the bathrooms are down the hall. Apparently they are automatically sanitized after every use. Etap is also an Accor brand, and is one step up from Formule1, as it does have ensuite bathrooms.

3* bids in Kensington or Bloomsbury would be a reasonable choice.

Even though I'm not that picky, I wouldn't go for 2* in London, because there are so many bad places at that level. (However, the Comfort Inn Vauxhall was a great thing when it was easily available, though, but it doesn't seem to be anymore.)

Well, we train in from Manchester in the early AM of the eighth and we fly to Paris in the late evening of the tenth, so it's closer to three...

...but it's still going to be insane. We're going to attempt it, in any case.

As far as Paris goes, I'm pretty happy with one I found...couple miles from Notre Dame and nothing but good reviews on Trip Advisor, and only $60. :)
