I was going for *3 less in DTW area but since my last few attemps were rejected in the 40.00 range, I decided to jump up *4 to nab the Westin. (I have seen it go for 65.00 and the seminar we are attending is at the Westin, worked for us)

Yes, 65.00 was first bid.

Now I'm wondering if I should have tried lower. Guess since I was up to 40 plus for a 3* (and had 3 rejected bids for the 17th), I was thinking rooms were tightening up. I knew our conference started at 8:00 AM at the Westin, so bid more in the lines of what I was willing to pay to stay at the same place the conference was held. :) It was a pretty sure bet, as Westin is only the 4* in the DTW area. (so far, anyway) <G>

I must say, you have me speculating now! LOL Next time......

P.S. Their web site had a special for 85.00 a night, I"m thinking with taxes at 14% I"m still coming out ahead by 28 bucks, but will start lower in the future.
