Priceline Hotel: Express Deal reflective of Priceline's inventory for bidding?

I am checking out the Express Deal tab on priceline for the days I would like to stay in Austin.

I would like a 4* in downtown, but none is shown in the express deal as available for this area (in any star level).

Is it fruitless to do priceline bidding in this area then?

What dates are you looking for? Does HOTWIRE offer any 4* hotels for that date?

As you likely know, Austin has periods of extreme hotel demand around certain festivals and events (e.g., SxSW, Formula 1, etc.), so unless you're very lucky during those times, bidding probably is fruitless.

thanks for the response. However, I am more curious to know if Express Deals inventory is the same as PRICELINE's Bidding Inventory :P

There's no reason to think it's the same, but without access to PRICELINE's databases, hard to know ;).
