We are seeking a room in Kitchener, Ontario. We are attending Oktoberfest as we have done in the past. So far no luck.

3* $42

2* $38

Both rejected. Will try again later.

There is a Best Western hotel in St Jacobs which is just outside of Kitchener Waterloo. It would only be about a 3 minute drive to get to Kitchener from there. It is quite nice. Plus it is right beside a farmers market which has amazing food.

Thanks. We go to the market each year. I just wish I could bring the awsome fruit and veggies back across the border.

Still no luck.

In one shot I went to $50 on a 3* for Kitchener and $46 on a 2.5* but I was rejected on both bid attempts. Any suggestions on how to proceed next would be appreciated. I would prefer not to add Cambridge even though it is just 9 miles away.

What is the highest you are willing to bid.

Despite Oktoberfest, rates are not out of line with the norm. I don't know how much of a draw this event is, but perhaps availability will open up as this date draws nearer? Maybe book a back-up at the Radisson while you continue to bid?

I'd say about $60 for the 3* and about $55 for the 2.5* Thanks for the Radisson tip. I will check it. Is there some link beneficial to Beter Bidding that you would like me to use other than the hyperlink in your post? I notice that there is a $25 cancellation fee for the Radisson - if I cancel "4 or more days prior to arrival."

Don't book a "hot Deals" as they have a cancellation pentalty (of $25)... book a cancellable rate. On their site if you select "view all rates" you'll see a $115CAD rate which is cancellable without penalty.

This Radisson Link, as well as the one above, are both affilated with the board. If there is ever a question you can go to our SUPPORT PAGE (top right corner above the board) and use any of the links there.... all of which help keep this board free for everyone.

Since you have so much time, you can increase your 3* bidding by $5 on each of your next two bids, and your 2.5* bidding by $2 on each of your next two bids... that will take you up to your limits of $50 and $60 respectively.

Before I received your reply I bid again on a separate account through Savings Barn. At this point I bid 3* $53 and 2.5* $49 and then $51. Still no luck. Thanks for the "View all rates" note - I missed that.

In two steps I have gone from $54-57 on a 3* and $51-54 on a 2.5* with still no luck. This is now higher than I have had to bid before for the same general date and location.

on my most recent bid this morning I bid $59 for a 3* I received a counter offer to increase my bid by $17. I know based on past experience that I do not need to raise my bid by that much. However, since I don't have a free re-bid zone for a 3* in Kitchener I cannot make an immediate re-bid through this account. Otherwise I will have to wait to increase my bid through my account at work tomorrow. I will likely increase this current bid by $7-9. Anyone have an alternate bidding solution?

I just bid $64 and I got the same re-bid offer to add $17. It seems a little odd that I got the same rebid offer when I increase my last bid by $5.

Finally, success although at a higher rate than I have had to do in the past for Oktoberfest. Last failed bid was this morning on my account at $67. Had my wife bid $70 on her account and finally the bid was accepted. We will be staying at the Radisson on King Street East.
