kneemeister Posted July 31, 2003 Report Posted July 31, 2003 This deal was 5.00 a day cheaper than a Compact at Alamo.com, and cheaper than any rate found on Orbits or Expedia.I know that when I bid compact truck, it will be a Ranger from Budget. This is a great deal for one or two people, you get the feel of an SUV for less than the Compact Car priceMy last one was a 4X4 Edge Plus.
daawgon Posted August 1, 2003 Report Posted August 1, 2003 I have rented the same truck in Oregon, and have found it a good deal, and a pleasure to drive, however, I want to warn you that your insurance coverage will probably not be adequate. If you rely on the coverage from your bank card, you'd better read the fine print. My cards (platinum) will cover an SUV, but not a pickup! CAUTION
kneemeister Posted August 27, 2003 Author Report Posted August 27, 2003 This one fell on its face, I got to Seattle and was told no Rangers available, was given a plain white Cavalear instead, to top off the screw up, I looked at my receipt upon check in to realize that they charged me for the full rental rate of the car for the week, on top of what i already paid Hotwire. Luckly I returned the car the night before my flight as I spent about an hour proving that it was a Hotwire rental and getting the 270 or so recredited to my Visa.Upon return home I notified Hotwire, yesterday I received an E-mail stating that Budget was sending me a $40 voucher for a future rental. :)
