McMainstreet Posted June 29, 2012 Report Posted June 29, 2012 First time posting, but have benefited greatly in the past form reading theseforums for informed hotwire purchases. Last minute road trip to visit Mt. Lassen Volcanic National Park and then onto Crater Lake. There's no information for hotels in the Red Bluff, CA area(half hour South of Redding, CA). Thesetowns are all off the major Highway 5 to get to Mt. Lassen or pass by Mt. Shasta.Booked 2 nights July 2nd-4th at $80/night Result: ** BEST WESTERN ANTELOPE INN 203 Antelope Blvd, Red Bluff, CA 96080 **Amenities:Pool(s), Business Center, Laundry Facilities (self-service), High-Speed Internet Access, Free BreakfastWas really hoping it might be the Hampton Inn (best rate would've been $99 pre-tax w/AAA discount and should've goneahead and booked that!) in Red Bluff. All Redding hotels that seemed clean were $120 range. In the end, found out that this same Best Western and the nearby Comfort Inn in Red Bluff are all at the $80/nightrate with AAA discount.... this is the first time I've had a hotwire purchase not save us money. Still, atleast it matches the same AAA rate we'd qualify for. Will see whether it's comfortable or not.
