jdmss Posted July 24, 2005 Report Posted July 24, 2005 I have been trying unsuccessfully for about 1 month bidding for a 4*, I have included all zones except Fishermans wharf and San Mateo. I have gone up as high $100.00 and still no luck. I do not want to go over $100, I am bidding for 4 rooms - 8 adults (after cruise hotel night). I can get a 4* Embarcadero for $120 which I believe is either the Omni or the Hyatt on Hotwire. It is for one night only October 29, 2005. Should I give up and just book through Hotwire (and eat the extra $20) or is it worth it to keep on trying? Thanks in advance for any input.
thereuare Posted July 25, 2005 Report Posted July 25, 2005 Rates are not cheap for these dates, and the Marriott is sold-out, but there is usually something available in this area so i would suspect that things will open up as you get closer to your check-in date.If you had to would you eventually lower to 3* (if your date was approaching and the $120 on Hotwire disappeared)... how acceptable to that scenario would you be?Thinking about the "what if" scenarios can often help you make a decision. Before taking the Hotwire offer i would at least try Priceline up to the Hotwire price. jdmss Posted July 26, 2005 Author Report Posted July 26, 2005 Ok, I will wait a little longer closer to the date, if I had to take a 3* I would or like you say bid up to Hotwire's price. Will post whatever is the outcome, thanks for your input !!
jdmss Posted September 5, 2005 Author Report Posted September 5, 2005 I was tired of bidding up to $120.00 for a 4 * and was adding boutique also. A few days ago the 4* jumped from $116 to $171 on Hotwire.....So today I bid $90.00 for 3* and was accepted for 4 rooms at Club Quarters. Hope it is nice!!
thereuare Posted September 5, 2005 Report Posted September 5, 2005 Glad to see you got this settled... hopefully you're happy with the results.I assume this is in the USE-Embarcadero zone? Was $90 your first bid at the 3* level? Thanks for sharing and enjoy your stay. Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
jdmss Posted September 5, 2005 Author Report Posted September 5, 2005 Yes this is USE, and it was my first bid for $90 and was accepted....
