andersonchenghy Posted June 12, 2012 Report Posted June 12, 2012 I am a total newbie on Priceline, I want to know what I will be looking for to start my bid from 26th June to 1st July, if i want to stay in the City Center and the Main Canal Area. And will there be any triple rooms on Priceline ? Or i just have to go with 2 rooms and share the cost?thanks a lot
hohogap Posted June 12, 2012 Report Posted June 12, 2012 The moderators will be able to help you with your bidding strategy, but I wanted to let you know that PL ONLY guarantees bedding for 2 persons. That can be one or two beds, but no guarantee on either when booking. You can try and request 2 beds directly with the hotel after booking, but it is up to the whim of the hotel and best not to plan on getting 2 beds. Hotwire, on the other hand, will allow booking for 3 people and may be an option. My bookings in AMS through PL over the years have always been with my wife, or solo, so I didn't worry about the bedding. Good luck, and thanks for using the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the BB Board for your searches, bidding and wins for your trips!
andersonchenghy Posted June 12, 2012 Author Report Posted June 12, 2012 Thanks a lot , seems like i will need to get two rooms, Does PL accepts Visa Debit Cards ?
Romelle Posted June 12, 2012 Report Posted June 12, 2012 From the Priceline web site:"What forms of payments do you accept? The method of payment will depend on the rate you have selected. For pre-paid rates where your credit card is charged at the time of purchase, you can use Mastercard, Visa, America PRICELINE EXPRESS, and Discover/Novus. Debit cards branded with the Visa or MasterCard logo are also valid forms of payment. Pre-paid rates include Name Your Own Price rates as well as published-price rates where the price and itinerary are displayed. Look for "websaver rate" in the Important Information section."Romelle
andersonchenghy Posted June 12, 2012 Author Report Posted June 12, 2012 Thanks , so any help with what pricing i should start with ? and is there anymore details on 3* hotel in the City and the Canal Area ?
thereuare Posted June 13, 2012 Report Posted June 13, 2012 Welcome to BetterBidding! So we don't suggest a strategy that goes higher than you're willing to spend, what is your maximum bid for this trip (per room per nite before taxes and fees)? While PRICELINE only guarantees double occupancy, HOTWIRE does allow you to search for up to quad occupancy and ensures sleeping accommodations for everyone you include in your search. While this often means two beds, the second 'bed' could be a pullout sofabed, rollaway brought into the room, etc, etc... would this be acceptable for your group? If so, does anything appear within your budget when searching HOTWIRE for triple occupancy? Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
