barbc Posted June 9, 2012 Report Posted June 9, 2012 Amenities listed:Fitness CenterPool(s) Restaurant(s)Business Center Spa Services Free InternetI also booked this property through the hotel for the two nights prior, because I was unableto extend the nights I had booked through Hotwire. It was then that I found out that thehotel does NOT offer free internet, it is $9.95 per night. I called and spoke with an employeeof the hotel who confirmed this, and said the hotel would not waive the internet fee. I havea message in to Hotwire, sent this morning (no response yet other than an automated 'we have recievedyour message and will get back to you') advising that the hotel does not have free internet, andasking for a refund from Hotwire of $19.90 ($9.95x2). Yes this is the hotel that I hoped to 'win' andI am also hoping that Hotwire will make good on the amenities they advertised on their site. No, the'pay for internet' is not a new policy of the hotel.
barbc Posted June 9, 2012 Author Report Posted June 9, 2012 I should also mention that the zone is now "Walnut Creek, Concord, Lafayette Area" and that the correct name of the hotel I won is "Lafayette Park Hotel and Spa" (don'tknow why the header messed with the name of the hotel)
barbc Posted June 9, 2012 Author Report Posted June 9, 2012 I called Hotwire customer service this morning, as I had not yet received an emailresponse from them. The net result is that they have given me a credit ("Hotwire Dollars")of $19.90 for a future reservation. Interestingly, the agent said that when she looks upthe hotel on her system, that it states internet is available for a surcharge. Perhapsthey have changed it already based on my message to them. But my receipt and in my accountat Hotwire it clearly states "free internet" and if you click on the detail it says "propertyoffers free internet in all the rooms". She advised me that if I book this hotel in the futureto be aware that the internet is not free. I do hope that they take it off the list of amenitiesfor everybody else's sake! If so, I am satisfied with the outcome.

barbc Posted June 9, 2012 Author Report Posted June 9, 2012 I should mention that this hotel showed 95% of Hotwire customers liked it, and a 4.5 rating on Tripadvisor.I see that Hotwire has removed the "free internet" amenity from what is most likely this hotel, for futuresearches.
thereuare Posted June 9, 2012 Report Posted June 9, 2012 I see that Hotwire has removed the "free internet" amenity from what is most likely this hotel, for futuresearches. Is this as per your confirmation page or on a current HOTWIRE search, as i don't see any 4* hotel in this zone offered when searching HOTWIRE for your dates above. Are you still seeing this offer on a current search? The amenities above are it full list of amenities that are shown when using the MY ACCOUNT link on the top right of their home page? Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.Thanks. barbc Posted June 9, 2012 Author Report Posted June 9, 2012 The list of amenities that I reported in my first post, is the list of amenitiesthat were offered at the time that I "bought" the room, and yes, it is still thesame list as is on my receipt, and the full list is still there when I look undermy account (including free internet). I just searched on my dates again, and the hotel is not listed, theymust be close to sold out for those dates, as I had to call the hotel directly tobook the two nights prior. However, I just searched that zone for tomorrow night, 6/10, and the hotel shows at a rate of $129 per night (4*). The free internet amenity is gonefor that date and other future dates, so I assume someone has responded to the emailI sent and removed that amenity from the list. Hope this isn't too confusing, I don't knowhow else to state it.
