Priceline Hotel: 3* NYC Airports (JFK) Radisson Hotel JFK Airport

Made several same day PL bids in the Nassau County zone for 2*, 2.5*, and 3* properties, highest rejected bid was $90, and I exhausted all rebidding zones in Westbury, Glen Cove, and Bethpage. I selected the JFK region and a 3, bid $101 and won on my first attempt. Taxes and fees brings the total up to $127.11. The interntet rate was $149 so I was able to save a few bucks, although I believe that Priceline paid the hotel $79 for the room plus taxes, at least that's what appeared on the check in documents. All in all, I probably overbid, but I saw similar rated hotels on Hotwire going for $120 or so, and bid accordingly.

As airport hotels go, the Radisson is a solid 3* and it has an exercise room, free wireless (and in some rooms wired) internet, and a restaurant on site. There is a shuttle bus that will take you to the subway stop that in turn will take you to lower Manhattan (A train?). The cost for the shuttle is $5.00. There is 24 hour shuttle service to JFK and it leaves the hotel every half hour. The rooms are fine and seem to have been recently updated, but still on the small side. My first room had two double beds as requested, and is larger than the Kings. I had to move due to problems with the wifi, so was changed out to a room with hard wired internet.

The cost of the shuttle to the Air Train station is $5.00 and to the Subway ("A" Train station A or "E" Train station D) is $2.00. The Radisson lists travel time to Manhattan as being 1.5 to 2 hours. Also, they estimate that the Taxi to Manhattan will run $45 each way plus Tolls and Tip. This is why its better to stay in Jersey City or Secaucus rather than any of the JFK or LGA hotels if Manhattan hotel prices are beyond one's budget.
