Bid $46 plus $5 in bonus cash, received the 2* Travelodge. This is an older two story property with "park in front of your room" outside entrances, I was surprised that this was rated 2* as I usually see these types of hotels as 1*. I went back to PRICELINE's shop and compare site and saw that this property was available for $44.99. I contacted customer service and asked to submit a best price guarantee claim, and after waiting a few minutes I received a refund of $31.01 which was the difference of $6.01 overbid plus $25 as well as a $50 PRICELINE vacation certificate, which is pretty much worthless. Overall I was pleased with the result. The hotel is being refurbished with new bedding, carpeting and furniture, but the bathroom is dated, but my room was clean. Breakfast and wifi are free. Looks like a decent location for exploring Newport and I imagine this place will be packed in the summer.
