Priceline Hotel: Help for NYC 3/27 - 3/31

Hi--

My goal is a good deal in Times Square or Midtown West. For a 3-1/2 or 4 star I'd go as high as $150. But if I could get a 3 star for $130 or $135 that would be fine, too. I'd also be happy with the Wellington or Holiday Inn in CPS -- but I know these can't be guaranteed.

Here's what I tried (using your PRICELINE link):

4 star

$140 for TS

$142 for TS, MTW

$143 (added Coney Island for free re-bid)

3-1/2 star

$130 TS, MTW

$136 (added Coney Island for free re-bid)

3 star

$130 for TS, MTS (added CPS)

2-1/2 star (Hoping for Wellington)

$123 TS, MTS, CPS

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks!

Are you sure these are the only two zones that will work for your needs this trip? NYC is fairly compact and mass transit (or taxis) fairly easily accessible, and i think you can likely do better in a nearby zone... i would sooner stay close, but not exactly in one of these zones, before lowering my star rating as much as you did. Can i ask what your plans are for this trip and why only these two zones?

I know NYC well, and I really prefer those zones. Thanks to a post on this forum I was able to get the 4 star Flatotel (135 W. 52nd Street -- a perfect location for me) as a "mystery" hotel at Travelocity. $137/night -- includes breakfast. That's better than I expected to do :D .

Thanks for your help.
