dahammer Posted July 5, 2005 Report Posted July 5, 2005 Hotwire is showing a 2.5* Hotel in the East Hartford-Manchester-Vernon zone for $45 with the following amenities: Restaurant, Complimentary Breakfast, Pool, Golf Nearby, Tennis NearbyMaking a reservation for a relative, any guess as to it's identity??
thenewbie Posted July 5, 2005 Report Posted July 5, 2005 There are few hotels in that area that could meet those amenities. All depends on what Hotwire considers a 2.5*. Here are a few possibilities with a pool and free breakfast:HoJo Express - VernonQuality Inn - VernonWellesley Inn - East Hartford
thereuare Posted July 5, 2005 Report Posted July 5, 2005 The HoJo Express has a restaurant in their parking lot... not sure if that qualifies. The Wellesley Inn i don't see has a restaurant or a pool (maybe they do, but i don't see it).Of the three my best guess would be the Quality Inn... but can't say for certain. Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
dahammer Posted July 7, 2005 Author Report Posted July 7, 2005 I bid up to $41 for a 2.5* property, $40 for a 2* property, and $32 for a 1*, all rejected. Looks like the Hotwire 2.5* will be the best bet.
dahammer Posted July 11, 2005 Author Report Posted July 11, 2005 decided to book a room at the Marriott Fairfield Inn, Manchester as it was only 7500 Marriott Rewards points. This hotel was only a few years old, but was built as a Country Inn and Suites and converted to a Fairfield Inn. The room had two queen beds and was Fairfield Inn spartan, very basic, no frills. The hotel did have an indoor pool with hot tub and the free continental breakfast was pretty bland, seemed like everything had just been defrosted. The coffee was barely passable.
