dahammer Posted February 22, 2012 Author Report Posted February 22, 2012 Sorry for the omission, this was a direct purchase through PRICELINE, my bids were rejected up to $49 for a compact. I ended up with Avis. I was pleased with this transaction because the best deal that I was able to get was around $100 with the drop off charge. I was concerned that there might be a drop off charge with Avis, I called them directly and was told I needed to contact PRICELINE. I called PRICELINE and was told I needed to call Avis. In the end, the charges were exactly as expected, despite the attempts of the rental agent to upsell me to a Mustang, or an Altima and sell additional insurance. Through PRICELINE, I paid an additional $11 for collision damage waiver.
