Going to New Orleans for a wedding this weekend and am looking to secure 3 rooms. My preference is to say in the French Quarter, but since it looks like the Downtown hotels that hit on Priceline are pretty close to The Quarter, I'm willing to stay in that district if I can save some money. I reviewed past successes on the site and bid as follows...

4* French Quarter

At this point I pretty much exhausted my bids for the day, so I decided to take a crack at the Downtown district...

I'm disappointed given I see a lot of previous wins in the $60/night neighborhood, with probably 90% under $100. Not sure where I'm going to take things from here, there is a 4* in Hotwire in the Downtown district for $134 which looks like it could be the Sheraton, Inter-Continental or W Hotel. It doesn't look like I can touch anything in the French Quarter for less than $175, so I might pick up my bidding at $120 tomorrow.

Sorry to hear that your bids weren't accepted. :)

How many people are in each room? When I search for 3 rooms/6 adults (total) for 12/1-3, I'm seeing a 4* in the Downtown area for $65.

Thank you for using the site's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.

Actually I'm checking out on 12/4 (3 nights) not 12/3 so I think I phrased my post incorrectly. You did point out something interesting however, obviously that the rate skyrockets for the night of 12/3 (a saturday). The cheapskate in me wants to split my stay, but I know that wouldn't go over well with the others!

There is a big event in the convention center (ASHP midyear meeting) 4-8 December .. It is absolutely tough to get anything in the area as prices are too high ..

I am attending that, and I couldn't find anything yet ..
