jdletz Posted October 4, 2011 Report Posted October 4, 2011 I am looking to book a hotel for myself and two children in Washington, DC. Our travel dates are 10/18-10/23. I have read that you can not identify the number of travelers on Priceline and special accomodation requests are handled individually with the hotel once the reservation is secured. My question is this, will a room secured on priceline accomodate three or should I use Hotwire?
hohogap Posted October 4, 2011 Report Posted October 4, 2011 Priceline only guarantees a room for 2 persons. That means it could result in getting a room with only 1 bed. HW does allow you to identify up to 4 persons traveling in your party.
AaronJB Posted October 4, 2011 Report Posted October 4, 2011 Welcome to Betterbidding. :)PRICELINE guarantees one bed/double occupancy; bedding requests can be emailed/called in after the reservation is made, but there is no guarantee - the hotel could say okay, no or possibly charge more. HOTWIRE guarantees some form of bedding for the amount of people indicated, and you can indicate up to 4 per room. If you need more than one bed, I'd suggest HOTWIRE; if not, PRICELINE is fine. What would be your desired budget per night, and which zone/s are you interested in staying in (and what star ratings would you be interested in bidding for?)Thank you for using the site's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.
jdletz Posted October 5, 2011 Author Report Posted October 5, 2011 We are TRUE tourists on this trip. As such, we are looking to stay within walking distance of the major attractions. i was thinking that I would like to stay in the White House area; National Mall area or Dupont Circle. We are staying 10/18-10/23 and would like to get the best deal possible. My preference would be 3 star or above. Thoughts/recommendations?
thereuare Posted October 6, 2011 Report Posted October 6, 2011 Based upon the information above, did you want to use HOTWIRE to ensure triple occupancy... or are you willing to take the risk of using PRICELINE?...I would like to stay in the White House area; National Mall area or Dupont Circle. There is no 'National Mall' zone on either PRICELINE or HOTWIRE, which zone is it that you're referring to?Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
jdletz Posted October 6, 2011 Author Report Posted October 6, 2011 I think the safest bet would be to use Hotwire. I don't want to get out their and not have a bed for everyone. I am thinking the white house; dupont circle and Kennedy center
