purplelotus Posted September 26, 2011 Report Posted September 26, 2011 Just needed a hotel at the airport for one night while waiting for a connecting flight. Tried bidding on Priceline from Sept 5-9 several times. Bid as high as $71 ($90 with tax and fee) for a 3.5* hotel and $58 ($74 with tax and fee) for a 3* hotel but was unsuccessful. Used the PRICELINE links to bid. Ultimately booked a pre-paid room with Hilton Newark Airport (a 3.5* hotel) for $95 ($111 with tax) since I get points plus free breakfast for two from credit card. When I checked in at Hilton, I was told they were sold out for the night so maybe that is why I wasn't winning anything on Priceline. Hilton was fine, and I was glad to get a good breakfast since airlines don't serve free food any more.
AaronJB Posted September 27, 2011 Report Posted September 27, 2011 Sorry to hear that bidding didn't work out for this busy night, but glad the Hilton was fine. Please use the site's Hilton link in the Support/Travel section to start your direct/regular rate purchases and searches.
