Searched two rooms (4 adults, 2 children) for one night LAX area for Dec 01-Dec02

Search results gave 4* at $102AUD per night with following amenities

Smoke free, Shuttle, Fitness, Pool, Restaurant, Business Centre, HIgh-speed Internet

Better Bidding suggested this could be Sheraton Gateway or Possible Westin LAX

Result = SHERATON GATEWAY, claimed 36% saving.

On a side note, I see that someone secured the Westin for $84 or thereabouts for a September stay. Granted a different time of year and a different hotel, but I'm curious if anyone knows how much HOTWIRE rates might vary over the 8-10 weeks between making this booking and my family (I booked for other family members) actually checking in? That is, typically do you normally get better rates further out or at the last minute?
