Priceline Hotel: Help with 4* San Francisco (USE) 10/22-10/28

Hi All,

I've been trying to get 4* (USE) for 10/22/11-10/28/11. I started at $130 and just had $251 rejected. The Prescott is only $260 on Kayak for our timeframe, should I just give up at this point? Are prices likely to drop as we get closer?

The Prescott is in USW zone. Is USW an acceptable zone too? There are nine reported 4* in USW but only three in USE, so you'll greatly improve your odds of acceptance if you add USW to your bidding.

Hotwire has a 4* in USW for $275 and a 4* in Embarcadero for $265, but no 4* in USE at all. Priceline may not have anything in USE either.

It's possible prices may drop as your dates approach, but it's also possible they'll go up. Nobody knows. Is that $260 rate at Prescott cancellable? If so you could reserve it now and keep bidding until your cancellation deadline.
