anyway Posted June 9, 2005 Report Posted June 9, 2005 I'm considering a trip to Cologne this October. Seems that it's safe to bid 4* there now, as Park Plaza has become Best Western. As far as I know, 1) BW doesn't participate in Priceline at all; 2) Park Plaza hasn't been reported in winning bids since that change (neither here nor in other forums). Or does anybody have contradicting info?TIAanyway
Chris26WI Posted June 9, 2005 Report Posted June 9, 2005 Well, I'd say, nothing is really "safe" within Priceline... but anyway... chances might look well that the former Park Plaza doesn't appear anymore.. though it's no guarantee... (I think also individual hotels can participate in Priceline)... Apparently the Le Meridien has shown up some times already as 4star which seems to be nice deal.. and the Renaissance + Crowne Plaza will probably still participate. So I'd take the risk.. maybe for one night only to check.. (however there seems to be some Park Inns in Cologne now according to parkplaza.com..).
Jule Posted June 12, 2005 Report Posted June 12, 2005 Anyway, as Chris26WI wrote "safe" and Priceline doesn't fit very well, but I bid Cologne at least 15 times the last 18 months and always got the super-nice Renaissance for $53 - $58 except one time when I finished at the very nice Crown Plaza. I would bet for 4* anytime
thereuare Posted June 13, 2005 Report Posted June 13, 2005 I bid Cologne at least 15 times the last 18 months... Could you please share some of these win with the board? (as new posts, of course)As you can see posting your wins does help other users. Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
sxc Posted January 1, 2006 Report Posted January 1, 2006 Sorry to dig this thread up again, but I was wondering if anyone had any more information as to whether the Park Plaza/Best Western comes up in Cologne?
