finkie Posted September 8, 2011 Report Posted September 8, 2011 PLEASE CAN YOU HELP ME TRY TO IDENTIFY THE HOTELS THIS COULD BE. IT DOESN'T SAY THERE IS A RESTAURANT. SAYS GYM, BOUTIQUE HOTEL 4* NON-SMOKING. I want to BOOK SOMETHING TODAY SO I CAN FORGET IT! THANKS IN ADVANCE
Romelle Posted September 8, 2011 Report Posted September 8, 2011 I copied this from the hotel list of those that have been reported here (very first post in this Hotwire - New York area):New York City (Chelsea - Madison Square Garden)4* Wyndham Fashion 26 Hotel (previously 3.5*)Amenities: Boutique, Restaurant, Fitness, Smoke Free, Hi-Speed Internet, Business4* Hotel Indigo (previously 3.5*)Amenities: Hi-Speed Internet, BusinessORAmenities: Boutique, Restaurant, Fitness, Hi-Speed Internet, BusinessAs you can see, there is not an exact match for the amenities you listed, so it might not be possible to identify the hotel you cite. You didn't include your dates? When you look at the amenities list, was there anything that said something like "select this for complete list of amenities"? Sometimes one has to do that to get the full list. This might be a key to the identification. While I'm just a member, not one of the moderators, I thought I'd try since you mention needing a quick answer. And finally, you might not realize this, but typing in all-caps is considered shouting in the on-line world. More to the point, lower case is actually easier and quicker to read. Romelle
AaronJB Posted September 8, 2011 Report Posted September 8, 2011 Welcome to Betterbidding. Please provide the entire list of amenities showing with the listing (if you did not), as well as the dates. The list mentioned above can be found at this link: Hotwire Hotel List.Thank you for using the site's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.
finkie Posted September 8, 2011 Author Report Posted September 8, 2011 It is the Flatiron Hotel, which has made me a bit nervous because I just rang them and there came a recording that said they were not open. After googling the name it seems it is about to open after some problems, from what I read the owner had financial problems and has sold the hotel. Hopefully the new owner will get it together. It looks beautiful and have found a few reviews from people that have stayed there end Aug / early Sept that are giving pretty good comments on the whole, albeit saying there are a few teething problems that you can usually associate with a new opening. Hope it will be okay, especially as my card has been charged in ful. Thanks anyway for your helpful comments.
finkie Posted September 8, 2011 Author Report Posted September 8, 2011 Actually I didnt book it with hotwire in the end, I tried giving in my card details and everything was virtually complete, when it wouldnt accept my card details, I think its because I am a non-us resident. Still this was the same details on hotwire and who I booked with.
thereuare Posted September 8, 2011 Report Posted September 8, 2011 HOTWIRE has no issue accepted non-US based credit cards. What service did you use to book the Flatiron Hotel? If not, HOTWIRE, how you can you certain that the property above is the same as the one you purchased elsewhere? What are the actual dates of your stay? Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases

I decided to try hotwire. The hotwire website WOULD NOT accept my card details, so i had no choice but to book it elsewhere. tt was because I was a non-us resident. the card details did not match, as I had previously used a postcode as per the priceline thread for US non-residents. Of course I cannot be 100% certain that the hotel on hotwire and where I booked are the same, but the details surely were! No matter, I've done it now and hope this hotel is fully open when i arrive in nyc. One thing is for sure, it is so new everything looks beautiful, so i'm sure it will be fine. thanks anyway for your help, would definitely use hotwire/priceline again.
hohogap Posted September 8, 2011 Report Posted September 8, 2011 Can you identify the site that you booked the hotel on for us? Thanks.
Laurakassandra Posted September 8, 2011 Report Posted September 8, 2011 Jep the hotel with above amenities is indeed Flatiron Hotel Toshi.I booked it yesterday through Hotwire. It was posted as a 4 star chelsea property with Boutique, smokefree, internet en fitnessI hope everything turns out fine because I was very alarmed after reading the tripadvisor forum. see link here LINKI immediately called hotwire and referred to this discussion and asked whether they had any indication it was a scam/not good etc,They said that they did noh have any indication it was'nt a legit hotel. So, i just have to wait untill my trip and see what happens. They would not cancel my booking because the did not have any indications and other websites they looked at had good reviews.I will report in oktober what happened en hope and pray everything turns out oke.TS: when are you going to stay there?
AaronJB Posted September 8, 2011 Report Posted September 8, 2011 Jep the hotel with above amenities is indeed Flatiron Hotel Toshi.Laura,Sorry to hear that you are disappointed with the result. I see only a few reviews for this property on Tripadvisor (link) but they are all generally positive so far.It would be greatly appreciated if you could post the details of your win - amenities, zone, star rating, dates - as a separate thread. Thanks.Thank you for using the site's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.
