spinach_15 Posted September 7, 2011 Report Posted September 7, 2011 Someone please help me, I have been bidding to no success.I am trying to bid London, zone 9: Notting Hill-Bayswater for a 4* hotel for Mon Sept 12-Wed Sept 14. I see that others have gotten it for less than $100/night. I'm up to $115 with no success. Priceline has an email $5 bonus offer that expires in 24hrs (I already tried using it making my bid $120) and STILL nothing. My other (more expensive choice) is zone 8: Mayfair-Soho +/ zone 13: westminster, also 4*. Also using the priceline email offer, I went up to $190 with no success. Please help as I am going on my trip soon.thanks
Romelle Posted September 7, 2011 Report Posted September 7, 2011 Any chance you can consider more zones? It makes the bidding easier, and you might get lucky in another one. London's public transportation is pretty good, and the city is pretty compact. Romelle
spinach_15 Posted September 7, 2011 Author Report Posted September 7, 2011 yes I'm willing to expand to any zones (9,5,2,8,13 or 1). My max is about $180, if possible. 4* for Mon Sept 12-Wed Sept 14. Please help. thanks

Please help. thanksI know you are getting short on time, so will try to help move this along. The moderators ask for zone names rather than numbers, since the numbers change from time to time. I'm a member, not a moderator. 9 - NHB5 - KEC2 - CKn8 - MFS13 - WsM1 - BMADo you have a definite preference for some of the zones, so want to bid to your max for them first? There are also two "free rebid" zones at the 4* level. Post back if you don't understand how you can determine and use them when bidding.Did you see my post up in the Bonus Money Opportunities area? $5 bonus per day, but it is only good today. Romelle
spinach_15 Posted September 7, 2011 Author Report Posted September 7, 2011 zone 9: notting hill-bayswaterzone 5: kensington - earl's courtzone 2: chelsea-knightbridgezone 8: mayfair-sohozone 13: westminsterzone 1: bloomsbury-marbe archi don't have a preference in which zone i get.Wembley and Hammersmith are my free bid zones, correct?Yes I saw the bonus money email, that is why i wanted to try to bid today. However I already bid in zone 9, 8 and 13 today. So i dont' think i'll be able to re-bid those zones today.i guess i can try the other zones as well. thanks for your help

Romelle Posted September 7, 2011 Report Posted September 7, 2011 Yes, you can bid the zones you like still today. The trick is to start with one you haven't yet bid, and then add one you have bid. The combination is considered "new" by Priceline. There are lots of ways of doing this. As I mentioned, I'm a member, not a moderator. But if I were bidding it, and wanted to take advantage of today's $5, I think this is one simple version I'd try:Kensington-Earl's Court $110+Bloomsbury-Marble Arch - $120+Chelsea-Knightsbridge - $130+Notting Hill-Bayswater - $140+Westminster - $150+Mayfair-Soho - $160+rebid zone 1 - $170+rebid zone 2 - $180Romelle
thereuare Posted September 8, 2011 Report Posted September 8, 2011 However I already bid in zone 9, 8 and 13 today...Please note that you can still use your Bonus Cash along with the board's PRICELINE links as follows...1) click the PRICELINE link on the board2) go to the MY PROFILE >> MY REWARDS link at the top right of their home page3) use the bonus money link in the MY REWARDS section of your profile (not a link from an email) and bid as usualPlease use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
spinach_15 Posted September 8, 2011 Author Report Posted September 8, 2011 thanks for all your help and suggestions, but I ended up finding a place on Hotels.com for $125/night in the notting hill-bayswater area. It had good reviews. thanks again
hohogap Posted September 8, 2011 Report Posted September 8, 2011 Could you provide the hotel name, star rating, etc. of the hotel you booked online? Much appreciated.
spinach_15 Posted September 8, 2011 Author Report Posted September 8, 2011 Caring Hotel.I don't remember the star rating, when I went back to Hotels.com, the hotel listing was gone. I think I booked the last room available for my travel dates.
