searbyb Posted June 8, 2005 Report Posted June 8, 2005 Can anyone confirm that the low price guarantee applies to a Hotel's own website specials which are available to anyone.I mean they do not wriggle out because of things like "Centenary" specials??
dahammer Posted June 8, 2005 Report Posted June 8, 2005 can you give us an example?? What is the special rate on the hotel's site and the hotwire rate?
thereuare Posted June 8, 2005 Report Posted June 8, 2005 I can't comment regarding your situation as i can't look into Dahammer's PM box :) Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
searbyb Posted June 8, 2005 Author Report Posted June 8, 2005 He says he has forwarded it to you. My travel dates are 2nd to 5th September 3 nights.I am reluctant to post full details on the board for the moment as Hotwire may move the goal posts!I was brought up to believe there is no such thing as a free lunch and the same applies to free money! :) Many thanks for your help.
searbyb Posted June 8, 2005 Author Report Posted June 8, 2005 Typical - I thought I would leave it until I got home and now the offer has gone. I thought I would give too much away. They must read this site very closely! :)
bbbb Posted June 11, 2005 Report Posted June 11, 2005 Anytime you find a lower rate after a PL or Hotwire win save a copy of the screen (web page) incase the rate goes up before they check it for your claim.
searbyb Posted June 14, 2005 Author Report Posted June 14, 2005 Hi Just to bring you all up to date - I have had a success!! The Hotwire page with the 4* (Nugget) at $105.00 per day reappeared and I went for it.The cost was $315.00 plus taxes and fees $41.95 = $356.95. I booked it and sent in my double the difference claim against the Nugget's Centenary rates of $79, $79 and $59 total $217.00.Just received an e-mail today advising of a credit of $196.02 within the next 10 days. The final maths work out at:-$356.95 Hotwire price $196.02 Refund (I don't know where the 2 cents came from!!)_______$160.93 Net cost$ 240.87 Original price_______$ 79.94 Saving (Probably go straight in the slots!!!)======= What a deal, thanks to the advice on this board. :)
thereuare Posted June 14, 2005 Report Posted June 14, 2005 Glad it worked out well for you.Can you please also include the amenities shown before purchase so that we know that they have remained the same (and can use this post as the latest reference for the last time they were confirmed). Thanks for sharing... hope your luck is just as good in Vegas!Enjoy your stay at The Nugget! searbyb Posted June 14, 2005 Author Report Posted June 14, 2005 bbbb - I posted the result as soon as I got the confirmation e-mail - I don't think I could have acted much quicker. I certainly did not want to post before I got the result to find it had been turned down. :) You cannot please some people!! :) AND the offer is still there and the same dates are still available 2nd to 5th September although the price is now $106.00 so you can make an extra 6 bucks. :o
