Hi Please help with a bidding strategy for a 4* or 4.5* in West Hollywood/Beverly Hills for 1 night checking in on 9/13 and out on 9/14.

Only 3 free rebid areas: Lawndale, Inglewood, and Culver City.

Used PRICELINE link when searching.

Priceline offers 5* and 4* bidding in Beverly Hills-West Hollywood zone, but no 4.5*.

What is your bidding limit, so that we don't give a strategy that goes higher than you're willing to pay?

Please use these HOTWIRE and PRICELINE links for your searches and purchases.

$150 would be nice, but im willing to pay more for a better quality hotel would go up to $200, but that would be max. Do you think that would be enough to bid for the 5*?? That night for L'Emeritage is showing for $450...

At current prices i'm doubtful that $200 will be enough for a 5* but to give it a try:

At the 5* level you have NINE re-bid zones. If you're not familiar with re-bidding please read Priceline Re-Bidding Explained and feel free to ask questions and/or confirm your re-bid zones with the board before proceeding.

Select 5* Beverly Hills-West Hollywood...

Bid $140, if rejected add re-bid zone...

Bid $150, if rejected add re-bid zone...

Bid $160, if rejected add re-bid zone...

Bid $170, if rejected add re-bid zone...

Bid $175, if rejected add re-bid zone...

Bid $180, if rejected add re-bid zone...

Bid $185, if rejected add re-bid zone...

Bid $190, if rejected add re-bid zone...

Bid $195, if rejected add re-bid zone...

Bid $200

Any questions feel free ot ask. If the above is rejected post back and we'll revise to try for a 4* hotel.

Good luck and let us know how it goes.

Ok so I bid up to $200 and it wasn't accepted. Can you please provide a bidding strategy for a 4*... I guess my max on this one would be about $150 or so, is that a high enough bid??

Posted

I think $150 may fall a bit short, but with a little time in your side we can try that first, then if rejected you can decide if you want to increase your maximum bid or add other zones.

At the 4* level you have THREE re-bid zones. If you're not familiar with re-bidding please read Priceline Re-Bidding Explained and feel free to ask questions and/or confirm your re-bid zones with the board before proceeding.

(NOTE: 're-bid zone1' is not the same as priceline's Zone1, 're-bid zone2' is not the same as priceline's Zone2, etc, etc)

Select 4* Beverly Hills-West Hollywood...

Bid $115, if rejected add re-bid zone1...

Select 4* Beverly Hills-West Hollywood and re-bid zone2...

No luck winning any bids. I instead just booked a hotel without bidding, with taxes included it wasn't much less than booking a room that I knew the name for the price they listed. Thank you for your help.
