Priceline Hotel: 2.5* Reno Ramada Hotel and Casino

Trying to win something for 1 night using this site. Hotwire has a recommended (85%) 2 star for $39 and 2.5 star for $66 (no review info) as well as a condo in Downtown Reno for $52 (no review info).

I'm trying to win the best possible option in either Downtown Reno or the Reno Airport area. I tried the following options with no result so far. Will keep trying, and would appreciate any feedback/advice.

3-3.5* bid up to $50 in both areas. Nothing

2.5* bid up to $35 in both areas. Nothing.

Well, I need a hotel regardless. So I guess the best deal I can get that's better than Hotwire. Hotwire has 3 star for $80 I believe.

How's the Sparks area? Technically, I just want a comfortable place to shower and rest after Burning Man before flying back to NYC.

'Better' is subjective... some would find $60 for a 3* better than $40 for a 2.5*; others the opposite. It comes down to what you want to try first.

Perhaps try for a 3.5* up to $65.... if that is rejected try a 3* up to $60... if that is rejected a 2.5* up to $45?? Then if that is rejected wait 24 hours and up each maximum bid by $10?

This isn't a 'hard and fast' rule, i'm just giving an example of the type of direction we need to offer some suggestions... if 'the cheaper the better' you could also start at 2.5* for $45, then if rejected think 'if i'm paying $50 i want a higher rated hotel' and then try for a 3* up to $60, etc, etc.

It really comes down to your budget and what type of quality you're looking for from the hotel this trip.

I tried 3*+ up to $56 and didn't get anything. Then tried $40 for 2.5 star and won the Ramada Reno Hotel & Casino. Seems like a fine option if I ask for a remodeled room. So I'm happy with it. Regular price on their website is $109.99.

I just called the hotel and apparently Priceline booked me into a smoking room with 2 double beds, Ramada can't touch the reservation. Hopefully, I'll be able to change that to 1 bed non-smoking when I arrive. I sent Priceline an email too.

You can try to call the hotel again and make your room request again (wait 8-10 hours to hopefully get a different desk clerk) to see if you have better luck the second time around. If not, i would think chances are good that you'll be able to change at the time of check-in.
