roothy Posted July 10, 2003 Report Posted July 10, 2003 Accepted a room for 8/5/03 through the 8th at $75. It's the U.S. Grant Hotel, loosely associated with the Wyndham, but NOT the same as the Wyndham Emerald. Reviews on tripadvisor.com indicate very mixed reviews, and it sounds like the hotel is old, historic, and not that fantastic on the customer service front. Sure has a great appearance on the outside, however, according to their web site photos. Bottom line - at $75 a night I don't think I'll complain, but I have a hunch that the hotel is not really 4 star. AAA has not evaluated it, but do mention it in their book, with the statement "characteristic of a mid-range property."
