barbest Posted August 19, 2011 Report Posted August 19, 2011 Don't see any results for Gunnison. Wondering if the 2.5* hotel is the Holiday Inn Express. Priceline (not name your own price) shows it 2.5*, but most internet sites give it 3*. Are the star ratings and hotels the same for priceline hotels and name your own price hotels? Can you check the regular hotel list to see what hotels will be used if you 'name your own price'?
hohogap Posted August 19, 2011 Report Posted August 19, 2011 The moderators can assist on trying to identify hotels. My comments refer to PL, which has its own star ratings system. I believe PL is generally accurate on its ratings. I've seen other sites with higher ratings than found on PL, and sometimes lower. My experience is that Hotwire has a broader range of ratings and they tend to assign a higher rating to a property than does PL. A 4* Hotwire hotel often is rated lower (3 1/2* or 3*) on PL. As to the listed hotels versus the opaque properties in the "name your own price" inventory, the opaque properties you are bidding on are NOT the same as those identified. The inventory can be very different for name your own price. Therefore, seeing the list for all of the 2 1/2* properties on PL does NOT mean that those are the only properties that you will receive if you name your own price. Hope this helps!
thereuare Posted August 20, 2011 Report Posted August 20, 2011 Can you check the regular hotel list to see what hotels will be used if you 'name your own price'?No, there is a lot of overlap, but the 'retail' and 'bidding' side of PRICELINE each use a different universe of hotels. See the related link in our PRICELINE FAQ.Let us know how you'd like to proceed and/or what you decide to do and we'll try to assist further. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.
