halohans Posted August 11, 2011 Report Posted August 11, 2011 Hi,I need help, any change to get hotek for rate USD100 in areas like Union Square, Finacial District, Fisherman's Wharf? Thanks.Hans
Gallus50 Posted August 11, 2011 Report Posted August 11, 2011 Looking at Hotwire, the rates aren't outrageously high. Don't think you'll get under $100 for 4*, but maybe for a 3*. Won't know until you try, though. Be sure to use rebids. There are a ton of them in SF and you'll feel sure that you got the best deal.
thereuare Posted August 12, 2011 Report Posted August 12, 2011 I agree that you're probably looking at the lower end of your star ratings, but to begin, are you willing to pay more for a higher rated hotel OR is your goal the least expensive 3* or better for this stay? Are both USE and USW acceptable or onely one of these? Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. halohans Posted August 12, 2011 Author Report Posted August 12, 2011 Hi,Prefer 3* or better with not more than USD. I saw there are a few wins of Hyatt Regency at USD80. That is good deal!!!Cheers

thereuare Posted August 12, 2011 Report Posted August 12, 2011 At the 3* level you have ONE re-bid zone available. If you're not familiar with re-bidding please read Priceline Re-Bidding Explained and feel free to ask questions and/or confirm your re-bid zones with the board before proceeding.Select 3* USE, USW, SOMA...Bid $65, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $70, if rejected close browser and use this link to re-access pricelineSelect 3* Embarcadero, FW...Bid $65, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $70, if rejected close browser and use this link to re-access pricelineSelect 3* USE, FW, SOMA...Bid $75, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $80, if rejected close browser and use this link to re-access pricelineSelect 3* Embarcadero, USW...Bid $75, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $80, if rejected close browser and use this link to re-access pricelineSelect 3* USE, Embarcadero, SOMA...Bid $85, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $90, if rejected close browser and use this link to re-access pricelineSelect 3* USW, FW...Bid $85, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $90, if rejected close browser and use this link to re-access pricelineSelect 3* USE, USW, SOMA, Embarcadero, FW...Bid $95, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $100Any questions feel free to ask. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.Good luck and let us know how it goes. AaronJB Posted August 13, 2011 Report Posted August 13, 2011 Given the rates I'm seeing on HOTWIRE, I'm guessing that unfortunately you may have tohead up to the $110-120 range at this point.Thank you for using the site's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.
Colfax Posted August 13, 2011 Report Posted August 13, 2011 When rates are high some people will try the Civic Center zones. The location might be a compromise beccause they're farther from the core, but transportation is easy and it's possible you can win a 3* in one of the Civic Centers for under $100.Or you could try for 2.5* in your preferred zones.
halohans Posted August 14, 2011 Author Report Posted August 14, 2011 Hi,I have actually booked a two star hotel at SOMA area with rate USD90 per night. I am just trying my luck to get a better quality hotel with the same rate in priceline. If I am lucky enough to get one, I can cancel my existing hotel booking. This is my strategy. I aiming for wins like USD 85 for Hyatt Regency. I will keep trying in the next few days . Thanks.Cheers,Hans
Colfax Posted August 14, 2011 Report Posted August 14, 2011 Even if $90 isn't enough for a 4* like the Hyatt it could be enough for something higher rarted than a 2* in SOMA. Which 2* hotel did you book for $90?If a 2* in SOMA is good with you maybe you can win one for less than $90 ($50-60?) by bidding SOMA zone on PRICELINE.
halohans Posted August 14, 2011 Author Report Posted August 14, 2011 Hi,I got Mosser Hotel @ USD90 from Priceline normal hotel booking.I think I am ok with it, will keep trying my luck for 3* or 4* :)Cheers,Hans
