7continentKaren Posted June 3, 2005 Report Posted June 3, 2005 Not a happy camper. Got Holiday Inn, Oakbrook Terrace, was hoping for the Hilton Suites reported in the past. They can give me a king bed but want $15 for a rollaway I need for my grandson. I forgot to note whether there was free breakfast. I suspect I could have gotten it even cheaper with Priceline had I known. This hotel was formerly a Four Points Sheraton. It does have good comments.

7continentKaren Posted June 4, 2005 Author Report Posted June 4, 2005 Restaurant, pool, fitness. Customer favorite with 3 upbeat reviews. No mention of a suite or breakfast which should have clued me in. This will really help, though. 1st review: William B of Riverside, IL; 2nd Kenneth H of Shelbyville, TN and 3rd Camille G of Westmont, IL who liked the hot tub. That's it, folks!

7continentKaren Posted June 22, 2005 Author Report Posted June 22, 2005 The revenue manager of this hotel works the desk frequently. He HATES discount customers. He tried every ploy to get us to upgrade. BUT to get an upgraded room he made you pay full bore. Made no sense. Did have to pay $15 for a rollaway. Room was nice enough but I refused to spend another dime in the hotel due to the manager's attitude. Supposedly, a free computer for guests but they won't give you the password! A strip mall with restaurants is next door. Our grandson especially liked Chipotle about a mile away toward Lombard. PF Chang's is also a mile away but VERY busy. The location was OK but it is hard to find since Mapquest has the wrong information. The address is a bear: 17W350 22nd. When you exit the freeway I-88 exit Midwest Road near the hotel, turn right, not left onto 22nd. On left side about a block - across from Costco in case you have to ask directions. Costco also has the best gas prices if you are a member. We spent 45 min searching because we turned left on 22nd and actually found addresses like 17W100 and 17W600 and assumed, like Mapquest, that 350 would be in between. Duh. If you want to use Mapquest, you must put all the numbers and letters together: 17W350, not 17 W 350. Interestingly, it was the hotel that suggested Mapquest for directions.
