Which rental car company?

Hi I am trying to bid a car in las vegas.

But I just want to make sure...is it always going to be neither avis, alamo, hertz, national, or budget?

I created this post because I really do not want Advantage since I have seen tons of terrible reviews.

Those are the only five rental companies that participate in PRICELINE's "name your own price". Advantage does not.

HOTWIRE uses the same five companies plus Enterprise.

I will be staying there from aug 29 to sept 1st and my preferred car size is compact and above :)

Hopefully i can get below $20 a day

I would start at $16/day and increase $2 each day for the next 2 days which will bring you to your $20 target bid price... if unsuccessful we can re-access from there.

can I bid with this strategy? Start from 16 for economy on day 1. If unsuccessful, bid 16 for compact on day 1. If unsuccessful, bid 18 for economy on day one 1 again....does this work?

NO: $18 for Economy

The third bid will be rejected as a duplicate since it's the same as your first bid. You won't be able to make the third bid until 24 hours after your first bid.

I'm looking to book a rental car for DFW Sept 23-Sept 27 and I was wondering if the companies mentioned above are only applicable when searching for rental cars in Vegas or if it applies to all cities (i.e., Dallas Fort-Worth). I too am trying to avoid Advantage and Dollar.

Looking to confirm:

Priceline uses: avis, alamo, hertz, national, or budget

Hotwire uses: avis, alamo, hertz, national, budget, or Enterprise
