Priceline airfare

I have used this site for Hotwire and Priceline hotel bids, but have never had much luck with either PL or HW for airfare. I am trying to get 3 airline tickets for around $100 to San Francisco or Oakland, from Oregon but with no luck. Advice?

What are the dates of travel?

What are the taxes for this route?

We are traveling Thursday June 23 returning Monday June 27. I don't know what the taxes are. It looks like I can get a fare on Southwest for $150, but was rejected on PL at $135.

Alaska Airlines has non-stop flights for PDX-OAK at $140 + taxes = $160.90

With rates like those take the SWA or Alaskan Air and pick your flight times.

Have never used PL for airfare either, friend asked me today what kind of routings PL uses on connecting flights, e.g. Bay Area to Seattle would a connecting routing necessarily be through PDX, would soing South first to LAX be a possibility, or could DEN or SLC be possible as connecting cities? In other words, how out of the way will PL route you?

Routing will be on any 'scheduled' flight.

So while a ticket from NYC to Boston won't be routed thru LAX, it is conceivable that at times you will be traveling north to connect to a flight that will take you south of your departing destination.
