Priceline Hotel: Downtown 2nd room question

A couple of weeks ago I obtained a room at the downtown 3* Marriott on 6/25 for 50.00. I now want to get a second room for the same night and hopefully at the Marriott as well. A few days ago I started bidding downtown 3* - beginning with 50.00. Through rebids I have now been rejected up to $66. On that bid I got the "If you add $17..." offer. Of course I know not to add that much but even if I add another $6 I think I might end up with the Penns Landing Hyatt. Usually someone is not upset to get a 4* when they are seeking a 3* but in this case I am specifically seeking the Marriott. Any suggestions on what to do - or not do? For example, would a possible strategy be to wait a week or so and start bidding again back down to $50? I understand that I could end up elsewhere no matter what but any tips would be appreciated.

My guess is that you're looking at a hotel other than the Marriott.

Given that rooms were available for this date (when you had your winning bid previously) and are no longer available, odds do not favor the Marriott being won... but you never know how the hotel's actual bookings will go relative to their expectations (which is ultimately what determines inventory given to the opaque services).

When to increase your bid should be a decision based upon just how important it is for you to have a second room at the same hotel... if this is a busy date in Philadelphia and you wait you could get nothing at a reasonable price. If it's absolutely necessary that both rooms be at the same hotel, you could forget about your previous win and bid now for two rooms.... spending about $150 for 2 more rooms would be cheaper than buying one room direct from marriott for $249!
