Priceline Hotel: Need Help Bidding Santa Cruz, CA

Want to stay July 6th, 7th and 8th. Really tough bid it appears, and the hotel quality seems to vary greatly. I guess a decent 2 to 2 1/2 star is what I'm looking for, because 3 & 4 stars are outrageous. Would prefer to be in santa cruz or capitola and not watsonville. In other words, somewhere near the beach.

Welcome to Betterbidding. :)

What would be your desired budget per night? Additionally, it's not possible to guarantee a decent 2.5*; HOTWIRE may be a better choice - while more expensive, it'll at least possibly offer a better sense of quality and/or amenities.

Thank you for using the site's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.

Santa Cruz is a really tough PRICELINE bid, especially in summer. Noone has ever reported winning a 2* in Santa Cruz on this board.

Some (most?) of the 1*/2* motels near the beach in Santa Cruz are run down and there's no way to guarantee you'll win one of the better hotels bidding on PRICELINE.

HOTWIRE has a 2* in Santa Cruz-Scotts Valley for $82, and it's got a 2.5/5 TripAdvisor rating, which isn't good. Probably one of the Travelodges or something similar.

There's also a 3* for $87 with a better 3.5/5 rating, but no guarantee it's near the beach.
