srkusa
Hi,I am a longtime priceline user with good experience so far. Recently and for the first time booked a rental car form priceline. The Name your own price helped me some some money, however i need your help to understand the fee structure for Late pickup and Late Drop off. The details of my rental are as follows.Rental Car Company : AvisPickup : Pittsburgh on June 28th 12.30 PMDrop Off: Same location on July 3rd 12.30 PMMy questions is will there be a fee if I pick up my car on June 28th later than 12.30 ( just in case my flight gets delayed)What is I return the car a few hours late, will I be charged for just the extra period or will my whole trip charge be changed?I tried to get this answer by calling Priceline and Avis and both are unable to provide the info and asking me to call the other party. So any help is highly appreciated. Link to comment

thereuare
Welcome to BetterBidding! Can you please add a reply to this thread with the car class (ie- economy, compact, etc) you booked so we can add this information to the topic title.I am a longtime priceline user with good experience so far.We hope you share your future wins with the board. My questions is will there be a fee if I pick up my car on June 28th later than 12.30 ( just in case my flight gets delayed)No problem... as long as same calendar day (or a few hours after midnite) not an issue. If you're somehow delayed for days (flight canceled then can't get a flight out for a few days it can be a problem but if you're talking an hour or two then it's no problem at all)What is I return the car a few hours late, will I be charged for just the extra period or will my whole trip charge be changed? When you sign the contract at the counter there will be a note for how much you will charged for any time over your original reservation. However, this will have nothing to do with your PRICELINE rate and will be based upon current 'retail' rates. Note that the hourly rates are often excessive, so much so that anything more than 2 hours the daily rate may actually be cheaper. Please use the requested PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your future travel purchases. Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases Link to comment
