stylishtrvlr Posted June 15, 2011 Report Posted June 15, 2011 Hi, just found out that the elizabeth zone was combined to the Newark airport zone. We're interested to get a room in any of the Elizabeth hotels listed, does that mean starting today, there is no way to make sure one can get a room in Elizabeth any thru PRICELINE? Any suggestions?
thereuare Posted June 15, 2011 Report Posted June 15, 2011 Correct, with PRICELINE there is no way to target, or avoid, a particular part of the zone... you need to be able to accept a hotel anywhere within the given boundaries of the zone. Your other option is to use HOTWIRE where you may be able to take an educated guess as to the property being offered and determine if it's in the Elizabeth part of the zone vs. the Airport part of the zone. The trade-off is that HOTWIRE usually costs a little more than PRICELINE, but in a circumstance such as this you have a better chance at getting what you're looking for. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. If you'd like further help with this stay please let us know the details (dates, desired star rating, budget, etc) and how you'd like to proceed and we'll advise accordingly. Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
dahammer Posted June 16, 2011 Report Posted June 16, 2011 Hi, just found out that the elizabeth zone was combined to the Newark airport zone. :) this is quite unfortunate because the hotels in the Elizabeth zone offered free parking while several of those in the EWR zone typically charge for parking. A major disappointment. When bidding in Elizabeth the 2.5* level, I could be relatively assured of getting the Country Inn and Suites, but now with the new zones, I could get an upgrade to a 3* and have to pay for parking, breakfast, and High Speed Internet.
