Hi there,

Just wondering if you have any feedback as to the much higher prices on Priceline and Hotwire for that matter. For the past 10 years we have gotten resorts from Priceline and Hotwire during the 4th of July week ranging from $99 in 2010 up to $140. No luck yet on priceline up to $147 today.

Thanks so much for any help. May end up going for HOTWIRE for $134 thinking it is the Holiday Inn Oceanfront thanks to this website. Would be a step down from the resorts but atleast oceanfront.

Hotels use HOTWIRE and PRICELINE to sell room inventory that may otherwise go empty, so places like the Marriott and Westin are likely filling up by conventional means. I've never stayed at the Holiday Inn, but its location can't be beat. You could literally park the car for an entire week and walk to restaurants, shopping or bike all over the island.

The best advice is to bid up to your maximum budget, if you've reached it, you will need to decide whether to lower your minimum star ratings.

Friday, July 1st through Saturday July 9th. We are a little flexible could do Fri-Fri or Sat -Sat as well. I have been trying all of these.

Thanks so much. That is our plan. Today will be our max bid and if not will go ahead with Holiday Inn Oceanfront.
