dahammer
Checked HOTWIRE and saw a 3.5* for $60 and thought this might be the Hyatt or Sheraton, so I bid $41 and received a counter offer to bid $56. In the past, I recall that I would have to close my browser and access PRICELINE (using the BB links, of course) and start another bid in an attempt to undercut a counter offer. However, on the counter offer page, I was able to click a tab which allowed me to change my bid by adding a new zone or change my star rating, is this a new feature? At any rate, I went down to a 3* and bid $43, success!Your Offer Price: $43.00 Taxes & Fees: $13.65 Total Charges: $56.65 I thought about staying in the Long Island City zone or near LGA, but rates were sky high. The LIC Comfort Inn was $245, the Pan Am was $229! The rack rate at the Hyatt was $129 so I was happy with the outcome of my bidding. Link to comment
