AppleHead Posted May 18, 2011 Report Posted May 18, 2011 Hello,I need a double room for two nights in Copenhagen for my wife and myself - checking in June 3 and checking out June 5. Apparently there is some kind of major convention in town through Friday, June 3. So while I can find decent rates for Saturday, June 4 alone, I cannot find similar rates for both nights.I bid on $108 for a 4* hotel on Priceline late last night, 5/17, and was rejected. [by the way, the Copenhagen airport field was disabled/greyed out, so I couldn't add it. Any idea why?] I checked but Hotwire has no offerings for these two nights.I have booked a last ditch fall back hotel (GO Hotel, Airport) for ~$155 per night that I can cancel up to the day of arrival. However, they are under major renovation and their reviews are scarce and spotty - plus it is the last two nights of our two week European trip and if it is really terrible my wife will never forget who booked it -so I really don't want to stay there if I can avoid it.Based on the 28% rate tax recovery fees ($31) assigned to my failed $108 bid, my absolute max bid for a 4* (and I cannot go to a lower star level) would be $150 (assuming $150 bid plus $42 taxes/fees for a total of $192 per night). Thanks in advance for your help.
jdvmd Posted May 25, 2011 Report Posted May 25, 2011 Applehead, there is a huge medical convention of surgeons in town. Assuming there is any availability, $150 would not even be close. The Marriott is showing rooms at $593 a night plus taxes. We are in the same boat as you and looking for the same dates. We have a backup at Wakeup Copenhagen but it is outrageous.
