trishadamico Posted May 17, 2011 Report Posted May 17, 2011 Hi this is my first time using this website i was wondering if you could help. I am trying to find a place in NYC, we are going with my in-laws they are paying but wanted to stay an hour out of the city. but with two small kids that need naps i dont think that would be fun!!! lol so i was hoping to get a deal using priceline i have never used them befor nor have i been to new york! i understand the rooms are small but the kids are 1 and 3 so can sleep with us in one bed. because they are not in school i was thinking if i went in the off season would get me a better deal, so what is their off season we were thinking of going 9/29-10/3 i was looking for 3 or 4* what would be a resonable price 120 a night after tax and charges 160? please help i dont want to drive an hour for a nap hahathanks trisha
dahammer Posted May 17, 2011 Report Posted May 17, 2011 Welcome!can you please confirm the number of rooms that you need and the total number of adults? PRICELINE may not be the best option in New York as you may get a room with one double bed since you are only guaranteed sleeping accommodations for 2. As for your dates of travel, this is not really "off season", in fact if you changed your dates to Mid August, you would get a better deal. In late September the weather is cooler and the demand for hotel rooms is greater. You might want to check HOTWIRE since you can request a room with quad occupancy. Finally, are you ready to make a non-refundable purchase four months in advance for this trip? Please use the HOTWIRE and PRICELINE links on the board for your searches and purchases.
trishadamico Posted May 17, 2011 Author Report Posted May 17, 2011 2 adults inlaws are getting their own place and our kids are small so a dubble bed would be fine. i have no clue about new york just want to get the best deal our dates are flexable trying to figure out what dates to go from thursday to a mondaythanks for your help
thereuare Posted May 18, 2011 Report Posted May 18, 2011 ...if i went in the off season would get me a better deal, so what is their off season we were thinking of going 9/29-10/3...This would actually be more like high-season. Generally speaking you should come during the summer (July-August) or winter (Jan-Mar) months if you're looking for the least expensive price. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.
