Priceline Hotel: Optimal Bidding Process - Long Term Hotel/Motel Stay (Newport Beach)

I will be going to Newport Beach for work in mid-June and will probably be staying there for a month. My hotel budget is approximately $50-70/night. Ideally, I'd like a 4 star rated property. I should mention that I've already attempted to bid on rooms in weekly and bi weekly sets but have not had any success. What is the optimal process for bidding on rooms for a 30+ night stay? Let me know what you think. Thanks.

Welcome to the board.

30 nights is the longest bid Priceline will take.

Was your 4* bidding in Newport-Huntington zone only? How high did you bid?

Generally speaking shorter stays are easier to win than longer ones.

Hey there,

Thanks for the response. I am trying to bid in sets of weekend (friday to mondays) and weekday (monday to fridays) trips because of this lengthy stay in Orange County. Below is my bidding history for the first weekend trip.

Bidding History (@ 3am ET)

Dates: 06/17/11 - 06/20/11

Bid Newport/Huntington, Costa Mesa, Disneyland/Orange Grove 4* $73 rejected

Added free rebid Anaheim Hills $78 accepted

Got The Westin South Coast Plaza (4*).

Now looking to switch up hotels (or possibly stay at the same) for the weekday trip (6/20/11-6/24/11). Let me know what you think. Thanks.
