Hi,

We are planning to stop at Woodbury Outlet mall for shopping, for one night on Aug 6, and 2 nights on Aug 12&13. We'd like to stay at 3* or 4* hotel.

Since we have 2 kids, I'd like to bid on hotwire. Which area/city should I choose?

Thanks a lot

There are not many hotels in the immediate vicinity of Woodbury Commons and many/most are going to be more budget oriented rather than 'luxury' 3.5* and 4* hotels. The 'problem' is that that the zone(s) are geographically large, with the outlets not being directly in any of them, so even if you choose a zone which is close, you could end up 20-30 miles away.

One of the nicest hotels in the area is the Sheraton Crossroads in Mahwah, NJ, but it's south of Woodbury Commons (which means you'll likely be passing Woodbury Commons enroute on your way to the hotel and then need to traverse back the following day to get to the mall... and even from this hotel it's about 15-20 minute drive... although there is a great family friendly pizza place i'd recommend for dinner if you opt to stay here). The Sheraton is just $119/nite for your date above... i haven't checked rates for the second leg of your trip, but this may be a better choice for that let of your trip (at least for the first nite) since it would be more 'on your way' heading back from DC)

If you want to get closer to Woodbury Commons the Hampton Inn Woodbury is located right by the outlets, but it's also $169/nite direct :)

Based upon the above let us know your thoughts in terms of your budget and how close you want to be to the outlets vs. looking to save money and we'll take it from there.

I booked 2 nights stay from Priceline : America's best Value Inn at Central Valley for $80/night.

Now I have to figure out where to stay one night on Aug 6, on the way from Ottawa to Washington. Any suggestion, nice place to visit/stay?

thank you so much for all the information. I'll use this website a lot from now on!

I'm assuming this was a 'hotel direct' purchase and you knew the name and location beforehand?

Is August 6th an attempt at a shopping day too OR is it just a place to sleep before heading back on the road?

How is Corning? is it off road too far?

I have no idea of the route options from Ottawa to DC, but in looking at Corning on a map, it would look like Binghampton would be more along this route, and i'm sure for a quick stop over you could find something to do in this University town.

yes, it was hotel direct purchase.

August 6, it's a stop, but we hope it's a interesting place so we can have some fun. How is Corning? is it off road too far?

THanks.

I vote for traveling to DC via Corning, it will add a little time and about 50 km to your trip, but you will drive through the finger lakes region of NY State, you could stop at several wineries, as well as walk through the gorge at Watkins Glen State Park, stop at the Corning glass museum. The trip from Corning down through Pennsylvania is on Rt. 15 a fairly new divided highway all the way to Williamsport, PA and its a beautiful drive.

Re: hotels near Woodbury Outlets....there are some hotels in Middletown, I would stay here or in Mahwah, NJ. I would also check the reviews for the America's Best Value Inn as well.
