No mention of near beach is throwing me for a loop.

Done and done. Looks like hotwire site is down for some maintainance. To clairfy it is for 1 night only checking in 5/9 out on 5/10.

Can you bump this thread up tomorrow when Hotwire is back?

3.5* Hilton, Maya, and Westin have all been reported with those icons, so maybe one of them was upgraded to 4*. But I dont want to say without seeing the Hotwire page first.

We'll see what Colfax things but my guess is that this could be the Hotel Maya upgraded to the 4* level. However, i'm seeing this offered thru 'retail' outlets for this nite at $99/nite, and i'm not so confident about this ID, that if you are interested in this property i'd sooner just pay the extra $7 and know what you're going to get.

The 4* price has dropped to $81 but the icons are the same.

The 4/5 TripAdvisor rating is consistent with Maya, but not Hilton or Westin, so the Maya upgraded to 4* would be my first guess too. Or else it's some new hotel but I can't think what that might be.

Did you notice there's also a 3.5* in Long Beach for $68? That's probably Hilton or Westin.

The 3.5* was $108 as of 10:00 am this morning. Looks like it just dropped to $68. Think i would prefer both hilton and westin over the Maya so i will report back later with my results. Thanks again

Just an update. I thought i would run a PRICELINE request just for the heck of it before booking the 3 1/2 star on HOTWIRE. My offer of $49 was accepted at priceline for 3 1/2*. It was the hilton downtown Long Beach.
