Kaneohe0850 Posted May 5, 2011 Report Posted May 5, 2011 Can you provide some guidance on bidding for one night at a 3, 3.5 or 4 star hotel at the San Francisco Airport (Burlingame or North-San Bruno)? Here are the details:checking in May 7, out May 8Needs to have a free airport shuttleThanks!
Colfax Posted May 6, 2011 Report Posted May 6, 2011 Unless something has changed (and things do change) all reported 3* and higher in SFO South-Burlingame and SFO North-San Bruno have a free airport shuttle.A 3* will cost less than a 4*. Are you looking for the least expensive 3* or higher in either zone? Or do you want to bid to your limit for a 4* in SFO South first; then if rejected bid to your limit for a 3.5* in SFO South; then if rejected bid for a 3* in both zones? What is your bidding limit for a 4*? For a 3.5*? For a 3*?Please use this PRICELINE link for your purchases.
Kaneohe0850 Posted May 6, 2011 Author Report Posted May 6, 2011 Good questions--sorry I wasn't more clear on my specifications...see below listed in order of preference:1st choice: 4 star under $95 all-in, located in SFO-South, then SFO-North2nd choice: 3.5 star under $80 all-in, located in SFO Suth, then SFO-North3rd choice: 3 star under $65 all-in, located in SFO South, then SFO NorthThanks!
Colfax Posted May 6, 2011 Report Posted May 6, 2011 PRICELINE's SFO North-San Bruno zone only goes as high as 3*, so if 4* is your first choice you can only bid SFO South-Burlingame.HOTWIRE has a 4* in SFO South for $86 and Priceline usually beats Hotwire. You have SIX free rebid zones for 4* in SF. If you need help determining your rebid zones please ask.I suggest $55 for a 4* in SFO-South. Then add your six rebids one at a time, raising your bid $5 with each, up to $85. If that doesn't work buy the $86 hotel on HOTWIRE or try for 3.5*.Please start your bids with this PRICELINE link and let us know how it goes. Good luck!
Kaneohe0850 Posted May 6, 2011 Author Report Posted May 6, 2011 Success on my second bid! Started at $55 and was countered at $70, so I knew I was close. Here are the details:Hyatt Regency SFO Airport1 night, May 7bid was $60, $76.78 all-inThanks for your help!
thereuare Posted May 6, 2011 Report Posted May 6, 2011 Congratulations on your success!Glad to see this win came fairly easy and that you received a nice deal at this property. I didn't have any problems, but if you're a light sleeper you can request a room in the back of the hotel which doesn't face the main road in front of this property.Thank you for sharing your win with the board. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.Enjoy your stay.
