tk72 Posted April 23, 2011 Report Posted April 23, 2011 I have made a few bids on priceline staring at 80$ and upping it in increments of 5 to 100$ with no luck. Wanted to know is it better for me to try closer to the date? Dont really want to pay more than 100$.Suggestions welcome. Thx.
AaronJB Posted April 23, 2011 Report Posted April 23, 2011 Please read the Forum FAQ regarding bidding timing.Additionally, please provide the check-out date as it didn't fit on the top line of the subject.Thank you for using the site's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.
tk72 Posted April 23, 2011 Author Report Posted April 23, 2011 Sorry the dates are 6/15/11 to 6/17/11. Anybody has any ideas if there are any big conventions or other events in San Franscisco around these dates?
Colfax Posted April 24, 2011 Report Posted April 24, 2011 In which Priceline zones did you bid up to $100 for 4*? Priceline doesn't offer 4* bidding in Fisherman's Wharf. Did you bid to $100 in USE and USW-Nob Hill?In which Priceline zones did you bid for a 3.5*? How high did you bid?
tk72 Posted April 24, 2011 Author Report Posted April 24, 2011 Started with USE amd subsequently added Fisherman's Wharf & USW-Nob Hill and then lowered my requirement to 3.5* for all the zones. The highest I bid was $100.However picked up Hotel Adiago on HOTWIRE subsequently for $109 per day. Will post this in a new topic on the SF - Hotwire forum.
tk72 Posted April 24, 2011 Author Report Posted April 24, 2011 Landed the Adagio for $109 p/n for 6/15/11 to 6/17/11.Not sure if I am actually trilled about landing this as a majority of the recent ratings on Tripadvisor are fairly negative.
yellowdog Posted April 24, 2011 Report Posted April 24, 2011 tk72Thank you for sharing your result with the board! Can you please add a reply to this thread with the amenities shown before your purchase... you can still view this information by going to HOTWIRE and clicking the MY ACCOUNT link near the top right of their home page.as a majority of the recent ratings on Tripadvisor are fairly negative.Sorry to see that you don't like the outcome. But this hotel is rated 4/5 with a 83% ok on TA so i think you'll be ok. I always take the TA reviews with a grain of salt. And keep in mind with TA reviews that many of those people paid full price, which is often significantly more, and may have different expectations at those price points. And for some reason is the TA people eager to complain over ridiculous things. Enjoy your stay. Please use the site's HOTWIRE and PRICELINE links to start future purchases.Yellowdog.
tk72 Posted April 24, 2011 Author Report Posted April 24, 2011 Sorry about that. Still new to this Forum.
