My best guess is this is the Days Inn SFO West in San Bruno.

In the Hotel List Days Inn is listed in the San Bruno-SFO West zone but I think that's a mistake, or that Hotwire shifted the zone boundary, as Days Inn now appears to be in the SFO South-Burlingame zone--even though it has a San Bruno address.

If this isn't Days Inn it will be something similar...a HoJos or Super 8 or something like that.

On Hotwire this 2* hotel is $59 for 4 people and you can book two beds at Days Inn direct for $67.99. After factoring in Hotwire's transaction fee there really aren't any savings here. If the Days Inn suits you I'd probably book it direct rather than using Hotwire as you can cancel the Days Inn reservation later if you find a better deal, while Hotwire purchases are nonrefundable.

I can't check right now but if you post back that you're still interested I'll see if I can find some alternatives.

thank you for the information. It has been very helpful. I'm going to San Fran on Wednesday 8/24 but got a room at the Herbert Hotel for $50 on priceline for that night. 3 other family members are coming to San Fran very late on Thursday 8/24 so we're trying to find a nice yet inexpensive hotel to sleep at for a few hours.

Any help would be great. thanks again!

The Herbert Hotel is downtown in USW zone. Did you win the Herbert with a Name Your Own Price bid or did you buy it through Priceline's retail section (where you can see the hotel's name before you purchase)? I'm asking because the Herbert has never been reported as a NYOP win before, and if you won it via bidding we'll add it to the Hotel List.

Can you clarify what date you need a room at the airport as 8/24 is a Wednesday, not a Thursday, and your first post said you were looking for 8/25. Do you need a room the night of Weds 8/24 (checking out 8/25) or Thurs 8/25 (checking out 8/26)?

Also how late is "very late"? Some airport hotels that offer shuttles may not run them 24 hours. This is especially true at the 2* level.

I bought the Herbert via priceline's retail section ( I now can't find it listed on priceline at all).

Sorry for the confusion about the dates. We need the hotel room for Thursday 8/25 checking out Friday 8/26.

Their flight gets in at 1157pm.

With that 11:57pm arrival you'll want a hotel with a late shuttle, as some hotels have last pickup at midnight.

HOTWIRE has a 3* in North SFO-Oyster Point for $65 with two beds guaranteed (check on 3 adults/0 children to guarantee two beds) that looks like Holiday Inn or possibly the Radisson, downgraded from 3.5* to 3*. Both hotels have been reported with the same icons.

Holiday Inn's shuttle runs til 1am (I just called and asked) and Radisson's only runs until midnight. I think this is more likely Holiday Inn than Radisson but I'm not 100% confident in the ID. If this turns out to be Radisson your family will miss the last shuttle and Radisson is one of the furthest hotels from the airport. They'll have to take a cab and cabfare will eat up most or all of the savings you get from using Hotwire.

You can reserve two queens at the Clarion SFO on Expedia for $69. Clarion's very near the airport and their shuttle runs 24 hours. Clarion's not the most wonderful hotel but it's probably a step up from the 2* you were considering initially and you'll have the security of knowing there's a 24-hour shuttle, should the plane arrive late.

Do you think the Clarion will work for your family's plans and budget?

Yes the Clarion may work. Thank you again for your help. You went above and beyond! I did talk with them again today however to see if they had finalized any plans yet, and they will not be renting a car so I suppose they should book a hotel in San Fran as opposed to the airport.
