mahmi Posted May 8, 2005 Author Report Posted May 8, 2005 The whole south beach in Miami is totally sold out for hotels during May 27-29 because of Memorial Day weekend. I searched and searched and this was my best deal for the overpriced south beach. I put in 2.5* and got an upgrade 3* . Marriott Biscayne Bay Hotel And Marina $165
jluff Posted May 8, 2005 Report Posted May 8, 2005 Good job, I think you did well, but can you tell us your bidding history.. IE, where you started?? to when it was accepted?
thereuare Posted May 9, 2005 Report Posted May 9, 2005 I think this was an overbid... HOTWIRE has a 4* hotel for $83/nite for these dates. Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
mahmi Posted May 9, 2005 Author Report Posted May 9, 2005 I just saw this. This is a little tricky becuase this downtown hotel can be on the complete opposite side of where I need to be as the Mariott on biscayne is considered Miami Beach/Downtown because of the bay location and it's about 10 min drive from my hangout. The hotels on the beach were all sold out for the event and this was as close as I could get at the time without paying 500-900 a nite(overpriced Sobe). I saw rates jump up to $492 May 27-29 :) and then May 30 after memorial day $79 on 3* boutique hotels. These dates were mostly blackout dates.
