thereuare Posted March 30, 2011 Report Posted March 30, 2011 Welcome to BetterBidding!Exactly which PRICELINE zones did you bid (ie- "Union Square" isn't a PRICELINE zone... there is USE and USW) Did you add a new zone after each rejected bid? What is your maximum bid for this stay? Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. luke12 Posted April 1, 2011 Author Report Posted April 1, 2011 I am interested in Intercontinental....which area are you suggesting?I am ok with $140
thereuare Posted April 1, 2011 Report Posted April 1, 2011 I am interested in Intercontinental...You can't bid on a specific hotel when using PRICELINE, you have to be able to accept any hotel in the zone at the star level (or higher) that you choose. With HOTWIRE you can often take an educated guess as to what is being offered based upon the amenities associated with the property, but it's still a 'best guess' and no guarantees you will receive the hotel you're hoping for. As well, HOTWIRE only shows one hotel at each star level per zone, so there is a chance the hotel you're hoping for isn't the one which is offered for your particular dates.Let us know how you'd like to proceed and we'll take it from there. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. Colfax Posted April 2, 2011 Report Posted April 2, 2011 LastMinuteTravel has a 4.5* Downtown for $142.55 that looks like the Marriott Marquis. On Priceline Marriott's in SOMA zone. The Marquis is "On Request", so the hotel has to approve your reservation, which can take a day. Rates are relatively high for your dates, so this $142 looks like a good deal, if you're interested. Also you didn't mention Embaracadero-Financial zone but lately that's where some of the best deals have been. It's only a $5 or $6 cab ride to the other zones, so could be worthwhile if you get accepted there for $100 or so.
